TaughtMe “Well maybe" (from “Am I Old?“, 2013)
Dear Blake Henderson, I fell in love with your music, it was in 2005, a long honeymoon with “ready to go under” and “arms as traps", and “lady" in 2008 was a confirmation but the heart is the heart and I fell out of love just for no reason, forgetting to listen to your records, forgetting to take them back from the attic after my last move. But less than one year ago I started to think of you again and slowly insidiously I found myself taking the stairs searching through boxes and finding those three gems, getting myself accustomed to those again. And I wondered, 2008 to 2012, that’s four years without a sign of life and my heart started to beat again and searching online if discovered you were alive and well and in fact working on this new album and I was relieved. I like you on Facebook, I followed you on SoundCloud. Since this day I fell in love with your music again, but this time it was the slow way, naturally, without effusion, without fleeting passion, each time a track appears in my shuffle playlists it’s a sunny spell. This time I know it will last, and the new record is great, and this day I think “Well maybe" is your best song ever, and I can’t stop listening to it. There is something magic, I can feel it in the air all around me.
