"Am I Old?" by TaughtMe officially out today

*Today is the official release of my new one: “Am I Old?” You’ll now see it on Itunes, Spotify and all other digital retailers. Im also selling it at my bandcamp page.

*I made a music video for “Well Maybe” from the album. I built it from found footage of stuntmen and schizophrenics fromt he 40’s.

*an official mountain-side release show is being planned for October 20th here in the Bay area. (stay tuned)

*I am working on a group of TaughtMe cover songs, all of which are tunes originally written and sung my women. (Cocteau Twins, Bjork, Innocense Mission, etc.) EXCITED!

a short description of “Am I Old?”:

I didn’t intend to build a collection of brooding monologues. I had even planned to avoid first-person pronouns altogether, imagining instead sonorous landscapes that flirt mindlessly beyond the ego. So I was quite troubled when “Am I Old?” and “The Kids” arrived: clearly human, undeniably egocentric. But they felt right! Gradually, as other tunes surfaced, I accepted that I was composing soliloquies and chose to own the fact rather than temper it. I named the collection “Am I Old?” and decided to decorate it with a single person toppling over. “Am I Old?” is my rawest album and my best try so far to get real deep.
